In times of trouble, though trials may come.
The rock of ages is standing strong.
I’m fighting battles but the war is won.
“Avalon”
I have decided after much that the theme for 2012 personally is “I’ve got you”
The year started in a rough manner – being retrenched the previous November, just days after my daughter was born – I was unemployed for the first 4 months of 2012. Having applied to a lot of employment agencies, I found the job through a family friend. I still hold that position about 8 months later.
My studying continued in 2012, with the possibility of completed my degree. This was put in serious danger with a shocking first semester. I then needed to pass 3 in the second semester to complete my degree. I passed 2 out of 3. I was granted and supplementary for the third. I write that exam in June 2013. So 1 more till completion.
Despite the many battles fought and trials encountered, 2012 was overflowing with blessings for myself, my family and our friends. Despite everybody claiming it was a terrible year financially (and for some in other ways), the year was good! There tends to be a general tired mood at the end of the year and people default to saying “its been a long year” and “money is very tight” etc.
Through all the trials in 2012, the rock of ages has kept us going at the crucial times. When I was unemployed, He provided and we were tight but in the black. Just when money started to become very tight, I was blessed with employment. When it came time to hit the books and study, despite being super tired, He came through and got me through the exams!
He is always present but this year it has been evident in small nudges that say “I’ve got you”. I am fighting battles but He won the war for me years ago!
My synopsis on 2012? It has been good year with ups and downs (like any other). Definitely more ups than downs with a positive outlook for 2013.
Great post. I often find while I am in the middle of a situation, it seems quite daunting. I wonder if I will make it through. With faith I always have…at least so far. For me the really amazing thing is looking back. I can see the lessons, the hope, and the providence of those situations. When I really examine them, I know there was much good in those times.
I loved your blog. It was very inspirational and enlightening. I hope 2013 is a fabulous year for you.
